Simpson Desert Tag Along Tour

$1795 per vehicle (includes 2 people)
1 June - 21 June 2008

This tag along tour is the first tour of the Simpson Desert for There and Back Again.  Having conducted a number of scientific expeditions or field trips to the area we are well placed to take you to this fascinating part of Australia.  While the track is set we will be able to vary length of travel time between camps. We will be traveling across the desert east to west, which will be more challenging when driving up the eastern side of the 1100 sand dunes of the Simpson Desert.

This tour will start at Brisbane traveling to Innamincka via Cunnamulla.  From Innamincka we will be traveling Walkers Crossing to Birdsville staying at the Birdsville Caravan Park and visiting the famous Birdsville Hotel for dinner, before moving on to Peopels Corner via the well known ‘Big Red’ sand dune.  Whilst in the Simpson Desert you will traverse nearly all of the tracks and visit such places as Approdinna Attorra Knolls and Purnie Bore.   Leaving Purnie Bore, we will travel up the Old Andado Station Rd to Alice Springs.   From there we will continue on to the township of The Gemtree for some gemstone fossicking before moving onto Tobermorey Station.  From here we will stop at the Min Min Centre at Boulia before traveling to Bedourie and then Quilpie, St George and the home to Brisbane.
